Process mining is becoming increasingly popular, with many businesses adopting the approach to optimize every internal operational element for better outcomes and worldleading performance and even help with the current Covid19 pandemic.
A slurry of ground ore, water and a weak cyanide solution is fed into large steel leach tanks where the gold and silver are dissolved. Following this leaching process the slurry passes through six adsorption tanks containing carbon granules which adsorb the gold and silver. This process removes 93% of the gold and 70% of the silver.

Take a rock that contains gold in it this process works best on quartz rocks and set it inside a glass jar. Add white cooking vinegar to the jar, covering the entire rock and then some with the vinegar. The acidbased vinegar slowly dissolves the quartz crystals surrounding the gold, leaving only bits of quartz attached to the gold.

Overlying rock is blasted and the rock that contains the valuable minerals is placed in a truck and taken to a refinery. As pictured in Figure below, surface mining includes openpit mining and mountaintop removal. Other methods of surface mining include strip mining, placer mining, and dredging.
